Thanks for Commenting, Doctor, and for the kind words about the information provided here.

In thinking about your question, no specific site comes to mind immediately. However this has an awful lot to do with my not really understanding your aims.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything new when I suggest that training should be "specific" to the sport in question. (If you know the Theory of the Transfer of Skills in motor learning, you likely realize that a given form of training could transfer either positively, negatively or not at all to a give sport.) In other words, I'm not sure you're looking for further help in reference to hockey or some other sport. So, let me know, and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks again for stopping by.

I have read a few other sites related to this subject in the past couple of days in doing a research report for my project. I have to say that what you're saying here makes perfect sense and is helping me to get my head around this subject. Do you have any other blogs you could recommend to help my research?

Thank you,

Good idea. In fact, attempting to puckhandle while taking-on any other sort of physical challenge very much prepares a hockey player for what he or she will have to deal with in the craziness of our game.

My kid has taken to practicing stick handling on his RipStick (a two wheeled skateboard).

If your boy/girl owns one ask them to give it a try.
